KOMPAS.com — Banjir yang terjadi sejak pertengahan Juli lalu di Thailand membawa dampak yang signifikan terhadap industri komputer dunia, khususnya untuk produk notebook dan PC desktop. Bencana banjir Thailand terburuk selama 50 tahun terakhir ini telah memaksa penutupan ratusan pabrik yang berada di sekitar kota Bangkok.

Menurut catatan analisis Data Corp, dari ratusan pabrik ini beberapa di antaranya memproduksi sepertiga dari total produksi hard disk di negara tersebut, atau sekitar 120 juta unit hard disk per tahun. Thailand, menurut perusahaan pengamat pasar, iSuppli, menghasilkan sekitar seperempat dari total produksi hard disk di dunia.

Vendor hardware besar seperti Dell dan HP bergegas mencari tempat produksi alternatif untuk mencegah tersendatnya pasokan produk-produk mereka. Vendor lain seperti Apple menyebutkan, penutupan pabrik dan gangguan pasokan hard disk ini membawa dampak yang sangat signifikan terhadap produksi dan ketersediaan komputer desktop dan laptop Apple.

Awal pekan ini, CEO Apple Tim Cook mengatakan, "Hampir dipastikan kekurangan pasokan hard disk ini akan memengaruhi industri secara keseluruhan."

Gangguan dan keterlambatan pasokan hard disk ini akan terus berlanjut sampai Juli tahun depan, demikian dikatakan oleh seorang analis Gartner, meskipun masih terlalu dini untuk memprediksi dampaknya di masa depan.

KOMPAS.com — Sekelompok grup hacking yang menamakan dirinya "Tim Swastika" berhasil membobol lebih dari 10.000 akun Facebook. Setelah di-hack, puluhan ribu akun Facebook tersebut di-posting ke dalam layanan berbagi file di Pastebin. Apa yang dilakukan oleh Tim Swastika bukan kali ini saja, beberapa waktu lalu mereka juga memublikasikan database yang dicuri dari website Kedutaan Besar India di Nepal dan pemerintahan Bhutan.

Laporan mengejutkan ini dilansir oleh Trend Micro, sebuah perusahaan yang fokus di bidang keamanan internet. Rik Ferguson, Peneliti Keamanan Senior dari Trend Micro, mengatakan, "Tim Swastika telah dua kali mem-posting ribuan credential data Facebook yang mereka hacked. Posting pertama di awal Oktober, lalu mereka masukkan ke dalam beberapa forum underground, sisanya ke dalam layanan berbagi file, Pastebin."

"Sebuah posting di Wall dari seorang teman tampaknya tidak berbahaya, video share dari kontak online, atau pesan instan dari rekan dapat berpotensi menyebabkan serangan. Ancaman mobile di dalamnya termasuk worm dan spyware yang menyerang pengguna yang mendeteksi lokasi dan aktivitas pengguna selama berselancar di internet.
